What is the Metodology of Situation ?

The Methodology of Situation, often referred to as Situated Practice, is a versatile approach that transcends design, influencing all aspects of our lives, including architecture, art, and cultural work.

Each of us carries a diverse array of experiences across various fields—ranging from economics and philosophy to art and graphic design—that have shaped our identities, influenced our relationships, and affected our emotions. These experiences, along with our challenges and aspirations, have led us to our current positions.

By exploring and understanding the experiences that have forged us, and by anchoring ourselves in practice, we can establish a meaningful connection between ourselves and the object we aspire to create. This connection infuses strength into the creative process, guiding us from the design of the project to its practical execution.

In the Utopia as a Safe Space module, we will delve into the importance of self-reflection and the examination of our past experiences prior to engaging in practice. This introspection serves as a vital step in developing a practice that is uniquely ours, genuinely reflecting who we are and who we aim to become.

As a distinctive approach within a specific design realm, the Methodology of Situation is a hallmark of Situated Design, enriching the practices of young artists and making their work both critical and impactful.
